To improve communication and discuss issues important to Lviv Polytechnicians, the chairman of the university’s staff union together with the union activists initiated a meeting with the administration.
Many of the issues, discussed during the meeting, concerned the peculiarities of working under martial law in Ukraine. In particular, the employees are interested in the possibility of using the hours of the educational process to conduct and undergo general military and tactical medicine trainings. It should be noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the University has conducted a number of first aid trainings.
The staff union was also informed about the situation in the context of the latest orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in particular Order No. 295 of 08.03.2024 «On Determining Lviv Polytechnic National University as Critical for the Functioning of the Economy and Ensuring the Life of the Population in a Special Period» and the Rector’s Order No. 217–1–10 of 11.04.2024 on organizing the annual reconciliation of the data of the lists of personal military registration of conscripts, persons liable for military service and reservists.
Also, representatives of the employees discussed with the University administration a number of issues related to the implementation of the Collective Agreement and the social development of Lviv Polytechnic, touching upon, in particular, the issues of medical examination and salary retention during internships abroad, social and domestic issues as well as vacations at the recreational Camps.
Much attention was paid to discussing information technology support for the educational process. Among the issues of greatest concern to representatives of different Institutes are the renewal of laboratory equipment, more effective computerized information and training software and hardware systems for widespread use. Also they emphasized the need to update information technology support.
