Lviv Polytechnic is an associate member of the Ukrainian Student League. The Congress is held every six months. It gathers all members of the organisation, which covers more than 60 universities. Bohdan Mirinchyk is a delegate from Lviv Polytechnic Student's Board and Union, and he told us about the event and shared his impressions.

Usually, the Congress lasts two or three days in different cities of Ukraine, which is an indicator that the organisation covers universities all over the country.

– This year, we met in Vinnytsia, where we had three completely different days. We visited the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, where the Congress was opened with a welcome speech by one of the heads of the administration. Next, we elected a new head of the Сongress, which takes place every year, and then we moved on to discussions.

The representatives of government often attend the meetings of the Congress of the Ukrainian Student League. This time, Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, Deputy Minister for Education, attended the meeting. He spoke about what is happening with higher education legislation.

– We talked about grants, as the news was published that entrants for a contract form of study have the possibility to get higher education thanks to grants, and we discussed the details to better understand how this can happen.

The business representatives also attend the Congress. They offer cooperation, including employment of students from the first year of study, so that they can study at the enterprises as well.

– There were representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and various foundations that provide grants for universities. The main questions were mainly about the universities – to share experiences, how we involve students in new projects, how we scale up, and how we work in a time of war.

This is a very valuable experience for me. I meet new delegates from universities and see how education in Ukraine is developing. Some universities are getting better, and some are getting worse, but thanks to this Congress, we have the opportunity to help.
