Last year was fruitful for Polytechnic, but this one should be even more productive

Summing up and identifying specific goals and objectives let us develop successfully. At the beginning of the year Lviv Polytechnicians deeply analyze what has been done, what should be changed, and where to make more efforts to reach the highest level.

On January 30, there was the all-staff meeting at our university, where Rector Professor Yurii Bobalo summarized and highlighted the most important results.

At the beginning of his report Rector emphasized the achievements of the university. In particular, Lviv Polytechnic is the only Ukrainian university which, according to Times Higher Education, one of the most authoritative rankings, entered the thousand best universities of the world by subject: Computer science, being ranked 401–500. And by subject: Engineering and technology and Physical sciences our Lviv Polytechnic is the only technical university in Ukraine that entered this ranking.

Speaking about international grant activities, over the last year, University staff ran 34 educational projects, received 8 scientific grants, 7 joint international grants, concluded 4 international agreements and was offered 14 individual grants. Also there were held 60 scientific and practical conferences.

Rector paid special attention to the tasks Polytechnic has to accomplish in 2019. In particular, it is necessary to monitor the quality of educational programs and make them meet international standards. In addition, institutions that train foreign students, and Lviv Polytechnic among them, must be licensed. An urgent task is also to increase the amount of applications for international grants.
