On 23 April 2025, the Department of Management of Organizations, the Institute of Economics and Management, Lviv Polytechnic National University, organised a roundtable discussion on the topic of European experience in promoting historical heritage and cultural tourism. The event was held within the framework of the educational project The European experience in the promotion of heritage and cultural tourism (101085171 – EEPHCT – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH, EEPHCT), the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet programme. The purpose of the roundtable was to discuss current challenges in the field of promoting cultural and historical heritage in Ukraine. The participants analysed European practices and looked for effective ways to implement them through cooperation between educational institutions, business and government.
The roundtable began with a welcome speech by Professor Oleh Karyi, Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Management of Organizations (MO) at Lviv Polytechnic. He emphasised the importance of such events for the development of professional discussions, the formation of inter-sectoral relations and the promotion of European approaches to cultural heritage and tourism management.
Lviv Polytechnic staff present at the roundtable shared their experience. In particular, Ihor Kulyniak, Project Manager, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Management of Organizations, IEM, outlined the challenges and new opportunities for transforming Ukraine’s tourism industry during the war, emphasising the importance of adaptation strategies. Kateryna Yarmola, PhD, Assistant Professor at the MO Department, presented the results of the study «Assessing the Influence of Factors on the Choice of Tourism Products by Consumers». Svitlana Koval, Assistant Professor at the MO Department, analysed the use of neuromarketing technologies in tourism, paying attention to the emotional aspects of consumer behaviour, and Olesia Lemishovska, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting and Analysis, the Institute of Economics and Management, introduced the historical aspect of organising ethno-national educational and cultural projects in her report «The Audit Union of Ukrainian Cooperatives – Organiser and Coordinator of Ethno-National Educational and Cultural Projects (second half of the XIX – mid-XX centuries)».
