Osvita.ua has published the traditional annual Consolidated Ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The Consolidated Ranking of Ukrainian Universities 2024 covers the results of 235 higher education institutions and contains 10 thematic sub-rankings, which identify the best classical universities, the best technical, agricultural, pedagogical, medical and artistic universities, as well as the best private universities, the best universities of Kyiv, regions and oblasts of Ukraine.
Traditionally, such well-known university rankings as Top 200 Ukraine, Scopus, and NMT Score for Contract form of study, each of which uses important evaluation criteria, are used to compile the Consolidated Ranking of Higher Education Institutions.
- The Top 200 Ukraine ranking, compiled by the Centre of the International Projects «EuroOsvita», uses direct measurement data published on open web resources of independent national and international organizations. The ranking table takes into account current trends in the development of higher education, which is undergoing profound changes in the course of ongoing reforms and suffering great losses as a result of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine.
- The results of the Scopus ranking are based on the Scopus database, which is a tool for tracking the citation of scientific articles published by an educational institution or its employees in scientific journals.
- The NMT Score for Contract form of study ranking contains information on the average score of the national multi-subject test of entrants who were enrolled in universities for contract studies in 2023. This ranking actually identifies the leaders among the educational institutions where entrants have expressed a desire to pursue higher education at their own expense.
Results of the Consolidated Ranking – 2024
According to the results of the Consolidated Ranking 2024, the leader in higher education is Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which has been at the top of the list of the country’s best universities for eight years in a row. This university is also a leader in the sub-ranking of classical universities in Ukraine.
The second place in this year’s ranking went to Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
Lviv Polytechnic National University took third place in the Consolidated Ranking 2024. Like last year, this institution is also recognized as the best technical university in the country.
