On May 24–25, 2023, a series of meetings between representatives of Lviv Polytechnic National University and California State University, San Bernardino, (CSUSB), took place at the Cracow University of Economics. Stanisław Mazur, Rector of Cracow University of Economics, kindly offered the hospitality and a safe space for negotiations during the military hostilities.
As a result of the meeting, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed by Yurii Bobalo, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University and Tomás D. Morales, President of California State University, San Bernardino. The strategic partner of Lviv Polytechnic – Cracow University of Economics – also took part in the event.
As part of the visit, several meetings were planned to discuss prospects for further cooperation. In addition to university leaders, Mike Stull, the Director of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), Tomás Gómez-Arias, Dean of Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, Hyunkyoung Oh, Interim Dean for International Education, Robert J. Nava, Vice President for CSUSB Advancement, Piotr Kopyciński, Director of Malopolska School of Public Administration, Cracow University of Economics, and Stanislaw Alwasiak, Head of the Department of Public Economy and Administration, Cracow University of Economics, also attended the meetings. Lviv Polytechnic National University was represented by Nataliya Chukhray, Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations, Nazar Podolchak, Director of Tech StartUp School, and Olena Pozniakova, Associate Professor at the Department of Administrative and Financial Management.
A number of joint initiatives have been planned, including exchange programs, an incubator for small business, and projects on the development of entrepreneurship and startups.
