The International Scientific and Practical Conference «Problems of Dynamics and Strength of Engineering Structures» was held on June 18–19, 2024. Representatives of higher education institutions, research institutions and companies from Ukraine and Poland took part in the event, which was held remotely on the Zoom platform.
The welcome speech was delivered by the co-chairs of the scientific committee: Dr hab. inż Maciej Dutkiewicz, prof. PBŚ, Wydział Budownictwa, Architektury i Іnżynierii Środowiska, Politechnika Bydgoska, and Professor Yevhen Kharchenko, Doctor of Engineering, Head of the Strength of Materials and Structural Mechanics, the Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Systems, Lviv Polytechnic National University. In their speeches, they noted that in this unstable time, holding such a conference will make it possible to exchange experience and knowledge, improve training of specialists in this field, and explore new designs, materials, technologies and innovative solutions.
The first plenary session Science and Education at the Universities in Ukraine and Poland was held by Dr. hab. inż Maciej Dutkiewicz, prof. PBŚ. The following reports were delivered:
- Lviv Polytechnic National University: history and modernity. The speaker is Olha Chepil, Candidate of Engineering, Senior Researcher, Associate Professor at the Department of Strength of Materials and Structural Mechanics, Lviv Polytechnic;
- Politechnika Bydgoska im. Jana and Jędrzeja Śniadeckich: Historia, teraźniejszość i przyszłość. The speaker is Dr hab. inż Maciej Dutkiewicz, prof. PBŚ, Dziekan Wydziału Budownictwa, Architektury i Inżynierii Środowiska Politechniki Bydgoskiej im. Jana i Jędrzeja Śniadeckich w Bydgoszczy, kierownik Katedry Konstrukcji Budowlanych i Mechaniki.
The second plenary session Dynamics and Strength of Engineering Structures was chaired by Professor Yevhen Kharchenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Strength of Materials and Structural Mechanics at Lviv Polytechnic. The delivered reports included the following:
- Influence of unsteady loads on the fatigue strength of drilling rig elements (Yevhen Kharchenko, Andrii Bilovus, Lviv Polytechnic National University);
- An approach to the creation of continuous vibrating process equipment without spring elements (Oleksii Lanets, Iryna Derevenko, Lviv Polytechnic);
- Modelowanie rozkładu ciśnień na budynku podczas działania tornada / Modeling of pressure distribution on building during the tornado (Tomasz Lamparski, Maciej Dutkiewicz, Politechnika Bydgoska);
- Boundary-element modeling of a curved cylindrical fiber in elastic space under its homogeneous deformation at infinity (Bohdan Stasiuk, Lviv Polytechnic);
- Technologia CLT i tradycyjna z punktu widzenia zrównoważonego rozwoju / CLT and traditional technology in sustainable development (Maciej Dutkiewicz, Paweł Nowak, Politechnika Bydgoska);
- A unified model for assessing the fatigue life of bodies with stress concentrators (Volodymyr Vira, Lviv Polytechnic);
- Structural investigation of IEA Wind 15-MW wind turbine exposed to Kahramanmaraş Pazarcık earthquake (Maciej Dutkiewicz, Ahmet Yildirim, Yunus Emre Kebeli, Politechnika Bydgoska);
- Mathematical modeling of spatial vibrations of the vehicle power unit (Volodymyr Paliukh, Yevhen Kharchenko, Lviv Polytechnic).
During the third plenary session Mechanical Properties and Strength of Building Materials and Structures, there were presented the following reports:
- Mechanical properties and strength of nanomodified high-quality concrete (Myroslav Sanytskyi, Tetiana Kropyvnytska, Bohdan Rusyn, Lviv Polytechnic National University);
- New ecological approaches to the use of hydrogen in construction (Oleh Holiian, Oksana Hembara, Lviv Polytechnic);
- Cyfrowa analiza obrazu w badaniach wytrzymałości w eko kompozytach cementowych (Daria Jasińska, Maciej Dutkiewicz, Politechnika Bydgoska);
- Mechanical properties of RCC pavement applied with various compaction Energy (Maciej Dutkiewicz, Ahmet Yildirim, Przemysław Stałowski, Politechnika Bydgoska);
- Testing of a ribbed plate made of PLA plastic, using the method of 3D printing (Bohdan Demchyna, Leonid Vozniuk, Mykhailo Surmai, Taras Osadchuk, Lviv Polytechnic).
The closing speeches were delivered by the co-chairs of the scientific committee, including dr hab. inż Maciej Dutkiewicz, prof. PBŚ, Wydział Budownictwa, Architektury i Іżynierii Środowiska, Politechnika Bydgoska, Professor Yevhen Kharchenko, Dr. Tech.
