The QS EECA University Rankings now features the top 400 universities in emerging Europe and central Asia. Among the universities in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, Croatia and the Czech Republic – there are 25 Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The QS EECA Rankings has been constructed using 10 indicators, including: academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty/ student ratio (10%), papers per faculty (10%), international research network (10%), web impact (5%), staff with a PhD (5%), citations per paper (5%), international faculty (2.5%) and international students (2.5%).
In this year’s rankings Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv took 33rd place and is the leader among the Ukrainian universities represented in the ranking. The first hundred best universities in the region also include the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» which ranks 66th, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University – 67th place and Lviv Polytechnic National University – 98th.
