LRMA awards the winners of the regional youth entrepreneurship competition organized by Tech StartUp School

On May 16, the Lviv Regional Military Administration (LRMA) held a meeting with the winning teams and participants of the youth entrepreneurship competition. The competition was organized by the Tech StartUp School, Lviv Polytechnic National University, within the framework of grant cooperation with USAID «HOVERLA» and with the support of LRMA.

Schoolchidren and students of Lviv region, including internally displaced persons, took part in the competition. The teams presented their projects, explained how they would help in everyday life, and talked about prototypes of the future projects.

Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Paska, Director of the Department of Education and Science, LRMA, Serhii Babak, Head of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Natalia Pipa, Secretary of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met with the young inventors.

Let us remind you that the project was being implemented during January-April 2023 on the basis of Tech StartUp School, Lviv Polytechnic, within the framework of grant cooperation with the USAID «HOVERLA» project. More than 600 schoolchildren and students from educational institutions of the Lviv region took part in the event. 36 teams made it to the finals. There were nine winners.

Nazar Podolchak, Head of Tech StartUp School, said that this project is a step towards creating a new generation of entrepreneurs and innovators in Ukraine.

«Faculty of Lviv Polytechnic and other professionals of their industry conducted training for the participants of our project. In the future, we plan to expand the project to other regions of western Ukraine in order to attract more talented children. The most important thing is that the participants got excited about their ideas and gained new knowledge, which they would use in their future professional activities», emphasized Nazar Podolchak.

Afterwards, Tech StartUp School, Lviv Polytechnic, held a meeting with Serhii Babak, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Natalia Pipa, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Yurii Bobalo, Rector of the University, and Oleh Paska, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional Military Administration. The participants discussed the development of the startup ecosystem of Ukraine, the importance of innovation and the development of science in educational institutions.
