On 4 June, the Department of Marketing and Logistics, Lviv Polytechnic, hosted a roundtable discussion on the topic «Building a Culture of Academic Integrity in the Educational Environment». The event brought together representatives of Lviv academic community and the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

The purpose of the event was to discuss challenges and best practices in implementing the principles of academic integrity in higher education.

This meeting became a platform for interaction between university administrators, teachers, students, and experts on the quality of education. Participants analysed existing problems and worked together to find solutions.

Pavlo Horyslavets, Head of the Education Quality Monitoring Sector at Lviv Polytechnic, spoke about the situation at Lviv Polytechnic and outlined the difficulties universities face, including cheating, self-plagiarism and falsification of results. The reasons are simple: lack of knowledge about integrity, pressure on results and lack of control.

At the same time, Lviv Polytechnic is actively working to improve the situation. The Academic Integrity Commission has been created, internal regulations are being updated, lectures and various trainings are being held, analytical panels for teachers, ethics courses are being developed, and students are being involved in discussions. There are also modern approaches, such as plagiarism checks, AI text analysis, and a policy of not only punishment but also error correction.

During the roundtable discussion «Building a Culture of Academic Integrity in the Educational Environment», representatives from various higher education institutions shared their challenges, experiences and new approaches to ensuring academic integrity in higher education. The event became a platform for an open discussion about real tools, internal policies, new threats and, most importantly, the responsibility of all participants in the educational process.
