On December 5 and 6, at the Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development, Polytechnicians learned from the German experience of wastewater treatment – Professor Marcus Anert delivered a series of lectures on Water UA.

Professor Anert is a scientist at the Institute of Water Supply and Sewerage at the Technische Universität Dresden. According to the guest, the purpose of his visit is not only to read lectures:

Over the last ten years, we have had many projects in cooperation with Ukrainian organizations in the field of water resources protection and found that there is a lack of knowledge in this area in Ukraine. Therefore, we want to help and present certain educational programs. I’m looking forward to a fruitful discussion, as I want to learn about this situation in Ukraine. I will show how we deal with all similar problems in Germany, said Marcus Anert.

The series of lectures is organized for the Institute of Sustainable Development and the Institute of Building and Environmental Engineering. Not only Polytechnicians, but the representatives of industry sector and Lvivvodokanal learned from the German experience of wastewater treatment. Lectures were held in the English language. Students really appreciate that the part of presentation slides Professor Anert did in the Ukrainian language.

It should be noted that this is not the first visit of the German guest to our university. It was during the V International Congress «Sustainable Development. Energy Saving. Sustainable Environmental Management», which took place this year in September that Polytechnicians managed to agree on further cooperation with Professor Anert.

Technische Universität Dresden and Lviv Polytechnic have signed a cooperation agreement. I hope that this meeting will be an impetus for its expansion, in particular in the sphere of education and academic mobility, in order to transfer the experience of Europe to Ukraine, said Head of Center for International Education Nataliia Hots.
