Today, no one stands aside from the terrible war started by the Moscow occupiers in our country. The International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations has intensified its work with the diaspora, focusing on two areas: informing the diaspora and informing Ukraine of what the diaspora is doing.
- Each of us asked ourselves what we can do for Ukraine and for the diaspora we work with. We have determined for ourselves that we dedicate part of the working day to volunteering, and part - to our professional activity, which consists in working in the information field. Our priority is to provide truthful verified information from the first sources. People abroad are disoriented in this huge stream of messages. Therefore, it is very important to direct them in the right direction, - said IECDR Director Iryna Kliuchkovska. - Since the Orange Revolution, through the Revolution of Dignity, the conditions of the war, which has lasted eight years, and now - at the height of those terrible events for eight years - the diaspora has proved to be an effective powerful force. It is very important to understand that we have a strong brotherly shoulder that will never betray us under any circumstances.
Since the beginning of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, the entire Ukrainian world community has mobilized its efforts to make the world aware of the atrocities committed by the occupiers in our country.
- Such a mobilization wave of the Ukrainian diaspora, which has developed in recent days, the world has not seen and Ukraine has not seen as well. They hold rallies, demonstrations, protest marches, prayers and pickets against Russian aggression in Ukraine. Since February 24, working almost around the clock, the Ukrainian diaspora has managed to mobilize the world through the dissemination of truthful information, - said Iryna Kliuchkovska.
Huge efforts of Ukrainians in the world are aimed at collecting and delivering humanitarian aid.
- IECDR has set itself the task - to cover the work of Ukrainians on different continents. After all, the great merit that the world has woken up, and in spreading information about what is happening in our country, is to the Ukrainian diaspora. It is also important that the Ukrainian diaspora is not closed in its circle, but works with public opinion in the countries of residence, appears in the media of the highest national level - they broke the information blockade that existed for many years around the Ukrainian issue in many countries, - said the Director of IECDR.
