«Learning is a process that depends only on us. If a person wants, he does, and nothing will stop him!» With these words Bozhena Sadova, a graduate of the Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, began her story. This year the girl graduated from the Department of Theoretical and Applied Psychology and shared her impressions of studying and how practical work at Polytechnic changed her life.

– I remember four years of study at the University very well. However, it was a busy period. The variety of disciplines we studied allowed me to look at the world a little differently, so to speak, I started to understand the science.

I liked the internship in the last two years of study. In the third year, due to the beginning of the pandemic, we had an online internship at the Department. But even in such difficult conditions, we learned a lot and gained useful professional skills. The internship at Polytechnic formed professional guidelines and pushed me to the areas that I like the most.

The internship at the Department included online meetings with specialists in various fields of Psychology. Among them there were practical psychologists; psychologists working with children; psychologists in the field of HR (personnel).

I liked my practical work so much that in the fourth year I stayed at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Psychology. Over the past two years, I have gained tremendous experience that has helped me better understand the process and look at the learning through the eyes of teachers.

As for the branches of Psychology, I can’t single out my favorite, I like the concept in general. However, at the end of my studies, I discovered psychology in terms of teaching – and all thanks to internship!

I was interested in everything: how much material goes into preparing lectures, how much effort is invested in teaching. My supervisor showed me what it’s like to be a Psychology teacher, and it’s really interesting.

Thus I can say that the internship at Polytechnic changed my life. Now I work as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Psychology. In the future I plan to work in my specialty.
