On May 22, 2025, the VI International Workshop “IT Project Management” (ITPM 2025) was held at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, organized by the Ukrainian Project Management Association (Kyiv, Ukraine), Ternopil National Technical University named after I. Pulyuy (Ternopil, Ukraine). Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Dortmund, Germany); International University of Information Technologies (Almaty, Kazakhstan), IT Astana University (Astana, Kazakhstan). The workshop program committee included Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Information Systems and Networks Volodymyr Pasichnyk, Doctor of Scientific Research, Professor of the Department of ISN Natalia Kunanets, and Candidate of Scientific Research, Associate Professor of the Department of ISN Natalia Veretennikova, who chaired the workshop organizing committee.
The event brought together leading researchers, teachers, and practitioners from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and other countries. The workshop was opened by Professor Serhiy Bushuyev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Ukrainian Project Management Association “UKRNET” (Kyiv), and Professor Nataliya Kunanets, Doctor of Sciences, Professor of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. In their opening remarks, they emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary and international dialogue, capable of forming new visions of the role of project management in an era of rapid change.
Welcoming speeches were also delivered by:
- Tetiana Shestakevych, coordinator of the Open Educational Resources and Ukraine project (https://lpnu.ua/oer-with-ukraine), who emphasized the importance of open educational resources for the development of education in times of war;
- Professor Igbal Babayev (Baku Polytechnic University, Azerbaijan), who focused on managing investment projects in times of uncertainty;
- Professor Çetin Elmas (Gazi University, Turkey), who proposed the concept of interaction between artificial intelligence and project management as a two-way development process.
The workshop program covered a wide range of topics — from mathematical models for assessing IT projects to risk management in critical infrastructure, from the digitalization of HR processes to managing XR projects in the field of music therapy. A special place was occupied by research into the application of artificial intelligence in project management, including optimization algorithms, neural networks, as well as assessing the effectiveness of solutions based on BIM technologies.
Participants presented cases from the university environment, digital security, logistics, urban infrastructure, as well as new approaches to managing educational, scientific and interdisciplinary initiatives.
This workshop demonstrated the high scientific activity of Ukrainian and international specialists, as well as their joint readiness to respond to the challenges of the time, integrating innovations into project management practice - in particular, in conditions of war and reconstruction.
