Lithuania initiated an international architecture competition within the framework of the School of the Future for Ukraine project. Its goal is to develop an adaptive design project for rebuilding schools that will take into account safety conditions and focus on the needs of students.
Authors of three best project ideas, selected during the competition, will receive awards from 8 to 12 thousand euros. The winner will sign a contract for 300,000 euros, which will involve the development of an adaptive school design project that can be quickly implemented in different regions of Ukraine.
All communities will be able to use the adaptive design project free of charge. Its availability will enable donors to speed up decision-making on financing the reconstruction of schools, and communities to save time and money.
A team wishing to participate in the competition must consist of at least two architects: one must have the right to practice in Ukraine, and the other – outside its borders.
The deadline for submitting project proposals is May 25, 2024.
