On October 28, 2022, Lviv Polytechnic hosted an interactive event - a workshop titled "Boost Your Digitalization." The event was organized by the team of the "European Studies for Technical Specialties at the National University 'Lviv Polytechnic'" project (EUSTS).
The goal of the workshop was to help participants acquire skills in using modern information technologies and services to improve the quality of life for individuals, society, and the state. Students and faculty members of Lviv Polytechnic took part in the event.
The workshop consisted of two parts. In the first part, participants learned about various services (Diia, Electronic Petitions, eMalyatko, ePPO, etc.), the processes of identification, authentication, and authorization, as well as the concept of digital identity. Modern Ukrainian e-governance services were presented, many of which were developed with EU co-funding and grants. During the practical section, participants created profile photos that could identify them as employees or students of a specific institution. They also gained hands-on experience adding the Lviv Polytechnic logo to their photos for platforms such as Facebook and Microsoft Teams.
Given that the accuracy and presentation of personal information are vital for Ukraine’s integration into the EU - and essential for applying the experience of European institutions in public service delivery - the second part of the workshop focused on personal branding in social media. Participants were introduced to specific software tools for quality content creation and management on social platforms (Snapseed, Mova-DNA of the Nation, Grammarly, UNUM, Unfold).
Finally, participants learned about data protection tools in social media, according to the key provisions of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and discussed potential risks of digitalization.
The EUSTS project team sincerely thanks all participants - students and lecturers - and continues its work on organizing other equally engaging events on relevant topics related to Ukraine’s European integration.
