On October 4, 2023, an interactive event «Dissemination of best practices in teaching European studies and creation of interdisciplinary programs in higher education institutions of Ukraine: exchange of experience with faculty of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies» was held in an offline format within the framework of the project «European Studies for Technical Specialties at Lviv Polytechnic National University» (EUSTS) and with the support of the EU Erasmus+ programme, Jean Monnet Actions. The event was organized by the team of the Center «European Studies for Technical Specialties at Lviv Polytechnic National University» together with the participants of such projects as DataProEU (Protection of Personal Data in the EU), TrustAI (Trustable Artificial Intelligence: European Approach), and AR4EDU (Augmented Reality in education: implementation of European experience), which are being implemented at Lviv Polytechnic.

In her speech, Professor Yaryna Turchyn, head of the EUSTS project, shared information about the specifics of the introduction of European studies at Lviv Polytechnic National University. Based on the data of sociological survey, conducted by the «European Studies for Technical Universities», she substantiated the expediency and perspective of introducing interdisciplinary programs that are of particular interest to students of technical specialties, for example, EU digital policy, EU energy policy, EU climate sustainability, etc.

Associate Professor Anastasia Doroshenko, head of the DataProEU and TrustAI projects, introduced the best methods of implementation of the mentioned projects in the direction of Jean Monnet, emphasizing the importance of popularizing knowledge about the protection of personal data and the implementation of such EU experience in Ukraine. Special attention was paid to the results and practices of the Data Privacy in IoT Summer School, as well as the Data Protection Day, which are of great interest among students.

At the end of the event, Professor Vasyl Tesliuk, head of the AR4EDU project, introduced to the audience the EU experience in implementing digital technologies (augmented reality) in the educational process. He demonstrated the European standards of digital competence of citizens, students and educators and substantiated the relevance of their implementation in the national educational space. Much attention has been paid to innovation in teaching and research, including the development of open online courses and the use of blended learning tools. It is important that such a positive experience has already existed at the ICSIT. The results of the Summer School «Digital Education for Students. Augmented reality in education» were also discussed. During the Summer School students of Lviv Polytechnic National University had the opportunity to work with the most modern products developed for digital education, generate their own ideas for useful applications for education and implement them. Professor Tesliuk, in practice, demonstrated the educational possibilities of 3D glasses of augmented virtual reality, and revealed the methodology of their use in the educational process of EU countries, which aroused special interest among the participants of the event.
