The Institute of Enterprise and Advanced Technologies celebrates International Marketing Day

On November 1–4, 2022, as part of the celebration of International Marketing Day, the Department of Economics and Marketing, the Specialized College of Innovative Technologies and the Drohobych branch of the Institute of Enterprise and Advanced Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic National University, held a series of events for students of the first- and second-year junior bachelors majoring in Marketing and Territorial Marketing.

As part of the event, there was a meeting of students and Professor Maksym Bezpartochnyi, Acting Head of the Department of Economics and Marketing, who held a practical seminar for professional junior bachelors on the topic «Modern marketer: soft & hard skills». At the meeting, there were discussed the TOP-10 most in-demand hard skills of a marketer, 5 critical skills that make marketers competitive, and how to make your career successful.

Oksana Kalinska, Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Marketing, held a training event on the topic «Using Cialdini’s principles of manipulation in advertising». Students could experience possible options for using certain manipulative marketing elements in practice. Thanks to the relaxed atmosphere, the courage, sincerity and openness of the students during their task performance, they made an attempt to use some principles of influence in their advertising. Students were able to feel the power of manipulative techniques; showed their skill, creativity; and discussed where the limit of this influence is in a negative or positive direction.

Under the auspices of the Department of Economics and Marketing, events were also held in the Drohobych branch. Students had a meeting with professionals who know about marketing not by words, but by deeds. In his report, Oleh Lekhush, the founder of the Your Burger network, shared the secrets of marketing which lead to success. The experience of an entrepreneur proves it as in wartime conditions he managed to open one more establishment in Lviv. The next speaker, Oleksandr Zhuravel (founder of Mazhura LLC), described the peculiarities of the production and sale of tableware and glass products during the martial law, and identified problems and prospects for the development of his own business. Nataliia Kolinko, Deputy Director of the Forest Song sanatorium, informed those present how sanatoriums function today, and what is the peculiarities of receiving tourists. The reports show that even in wartime conditions, marketing is developing and serves as an effective strategic tool for ensuring the functioning of business. The experience of these successful people confirms that hard times create strong men, and strong men create good times.
