From December 4 to 8, 2023, the academics of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic, namely: Halyna Lutsyshyn, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department; Lesia Kornat, Doctor of Philosophy in Management Science, Associate Professor; Uliana Ilnytska, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor; and Olena Lukachuk, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor; completed their scientific internships at the Department of International Relations, the State Academy of Applied Sciences in the city of Chelm, the Republic of Poland.
Representatives of the Department took part in the Ukrainian-Polish symposium on the topic «Democratic and authoritarian states. The new-old division of the world. The Second Cold War?» A separate panel on authoritarian and democratic regimes in modern countries was presented by Associate Professor Lesia Kornat, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Iwona Lasek-Surowiec, Head of the Department of International Relations, the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Helm, Andrzej Gil, Professor of the Department, and Yurii Haiduk, Director of the Institute of Neophilology.
Afterwards, members of the delegation from Lviv Polytechnic National University read guest lectures for the students.
As part of the scientific internship, a meeting was held with Mr. Stanisław Adamiak, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the city of Chelm. He told the Lviv delegation about the activities of the Honorary Consulate, the situation of Ukrainians in Chelm, volunteer and humanitarian aid provided to Ukrainians in the Republic of Poland, problems and achievements of the diplomatic institution. Mr. Honorary Consul also agreed to meet with students majoring in International relations at Lviv Polytechnic National University and share the experience of consular work in the Republic of Poland.
