In the Senate hall of the University of Warsaw an Ivan Vyhovsky award ceremony took place. Award nominees were determined by the decision of the Chapter (Kapituła), which consists of delegates from 23 leading Polish universities under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
Among the awarded there were academics of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences of Lviv Polytechnic National University:
- Viktor Savka, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Work;
- Marian Lopata, Candidate of Political Sciences, Assistant at the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
Ivan Vyhovsky Award (Nagroda im. Iwana Wyhowskiego) was founded in 2014 by the Centre for East European Studies (Studium Europy Wschodniej) of the University of Warsaw and influential foundation Collegium of Eastern Europe. The award recognizes the achievements of Ukrainian citizens in the development of science, culture and public life, the study of historical, contemporary and the formation of future relations between Ukraine, Poland and Europe.
