On February 28, 2019, Oksana Horda and Oksana Trumko, Research Fellows at the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations of Lviv Polytechnic National University, took part in the presentation of the Speak Ukrainian website for learning Ukrainian by foreigners, held in the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and dedicated to International Mother Language Day.
The website was created in 2018 at the request of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine and in pursuance of the Presidential Decree No. 156/2018 on urgent measures to strengthen the national status of the Ukrainian language.
The website contains a list of electronic resources and Ukrainian language textbooks for foreigners. There is every reason to hope that it will soon be replenished with the materials created by IECDR, which was one of the first in Ukraine to start creating teaching and methodological support for the study of the Ukrainian language as a foreign one.
