IECDR employees took part in the All-Canadian Conference of Ukrainian Educators «Ukrainian Education in Canada: New Realities»

On May 16, 2021, researchers of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Oksana Horda, Oksana Trumko, Halyna Temnyk and leading philologist Olena Mytsko took part in the All-Canadian Conference of Ukrainian Educators «Ukrainian Education in Canada: New Realities», which this year took place online.

It was one of the largest events of the year in the Ukrainian educational space, which brought together participants from 25 countries, united by «one goal, one mission and one dream». The participants had the opportunity to listen to interesting reports on methodological innovations, trends in Ukrainian education, Ukrainian-Canadian pedagogy and its role in the world educational space, problems and challenges which educators face and which need immediate solution, as well as to take part in a number of presentations and workshops.

During the two-hour presentation «Textbook Creation, Online Resources, Summer Schools: Integrative and Systemic Approaches», the IECDR team presented new textbooks «The Key to Ukraine: Cities and People» in two parts and «Stories from Lesia’s Life», series of video interviews with iconic figures of modern Ukrainian culture «Art walks with IECDR» and a set of exercises for them, the International School of Ukrainian Studies «Step to Ukraine», which works online during the pandemic, and the communication portal «Ukrainian Educational Universe» to help Ukrainian teachers from all over the world to share experiences, novelties, developments, announce events, etc. The IECDR team also acquainted the conference participants with their educational and patriotic actions and competitions, which the Institute has been holding for many years in a row for Ukrainian children in the world.

The conference witnessed great progress and qualitative changes in the development of Ukrainian education and impressed with its impeccable organization, friendly and warm atmosphere, gave positive emotions and left good impressions. We express our gratitude to the organizers, moderator Iryna Perehinets, speakers and presenters for meaningful professional communication, as well as the opportunity to present our work. We are looking forward to the next meeting in 2023.
