Iryna Kliuchkovska, IECDR director, entered the Secretariat of the Patriarchal Council of the UGCC «Emigration, settlement and global unity of the UGCC», which will be held in 2020 in Lviv.
On February 5, 2019 Iryna Kliuchkovska took part in the first working meeting within the preparation for the VII session of the Patriarchal Council, which took place in Lviv, in the Patriarchal House of the UGCC. Candidates for the Secretariat of the Council had the opportunity to meet with the Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav and the Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh.
– In general, during the meeting, we discussed three issues: the members of the organizing committee and the Secretariat, the draft program and the draft statute of the Council, as well as the development of thematic proposals for diocesan councils within the preparation for the VII session of the Patriarchal (All-Church) Council. We discussed the main directions of the Council, in particular regarding its program and speakers. It should be noted that it was a working meeting to formulate proposals for the Permanent Synod of the UGCC, which will be held on February 11–13 in Kyiv, said Secretary of the VI session of the Patriarchal Council of the UGCC, Head of the Ordinary Tribunal of the Supreme Archbishop of Fr. Dr. Roman Shafran.
The meeting was also attended by Fr. Andrii Maksymovych, Fr. Dr. Oleh Kaskiv, Fr. Pavlo Tsviok and Deacon Serhii Kasianchuk.
According to the decision of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC in 2018, the VII session of the Patriarchal Council of the UGCC will be held in Lviv in August 2020. The theme of the Council is «Emigration, settlement and global unity of the UGCC».
