The student team Zenix, the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Advanced Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic, won the first stage of the Global Logic Online Hackathon within the Smart City project. Polytechnic team is the only team from Lviv that reached the finals of the competition among teams from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv.
GL Smart City project is a smart city model in which cars, bicycles, traffic lights and other city objects communicate with each other to optimize traffic flow. As part of this project, teams of students and GlobalLogic specialists have already developed a system for detecting road surface defects, a system for optimizing traffic light signals and an air quality system. Lviv Polytechnic representatives successfully presented the project on the development and improvement of urban infrastructure «Search system for free parking spaces in the city of Lviv».
The final competition will take place on October 3–4, 2020.
