The head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations completed an internship at the Jagiellonian University

Halyna Lutsyshyn, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic, completed an internship at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations, the Jagiellonian University, Republic of Poland, as part of the Ivan Vyhovsky Award from October 1 to November 30.

Halyna Lutsyshyn became the winner of the international competition of the Center for East European Studies, the University of Warsaw, and received the Ivan Vyhovsky Award under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland for the 2022-2023 academic year. This year, the winners were representatives of nine universities from Ukraine, who have the opportunity to complete a four-month scientific internship at two Polish universities.

During the internship, the representative of Lviv Polytechnic studied the resources of the library of the Jagiellonian University and the library of the Institute of Political Sciences and International Relations on the topic of scientific research. Also, Halyna Lutsyshyn got familiarized with the activities of the Institute, in particular the Department of National Security, took part in the scientific events of the Institute (among them the international conference INFO INTEGRUM 22–2), and met with leading experts on the issues of ethnopolitical processes. Together with the scientific supervisor, Professor Piotr Bajor, Doctor of Political Science, and Professor Adrian Tyshkevych, Director of the Institute of Political Sciences and International Relations, she determined the directions of cooperation with the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University.

Also, on November 22, 2022, the University of Warsaw held a ceremony to award diplomas to the winners of the competition, where Vice Rectors of leading Polish universities congratulated the winners. Since the Ivan Vyhovsky Award is held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Jan Malicki, the Director of the Center for Eastern European Studies at the University of Warsaw, read a letter from the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, congratulating the participants.

It is important that the Ivan Vyhovsky Award aims to honour the merits of Ukrainian citizens in the development of science, culture and public life, in the formation and development of civil society in Ukraine and the development of a democratic Ukraine.
