Greetings from the Rector of Lviv Polytechnic on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine

Rector of Lviv Polytechnic
День Незалежності

Dear Polytechnicians!

For the second year already, not a single day passes without reports of the heroic death of our soldiers. And for more than nine years, those who should invent and build, create and inspire, raise children and give the warmth of love to their relatives are dying, defending our right to be a nation, and to be independent.

Although we realize that in such turbulent times, when the crucible of war devours the bravest and most loyal sons and daughters of our people, the nation is being formed and established, it is difficult to comprehend the immeasurable pain, experienced by everyone who has lost their dearest. At different times, our people suffered from the Moscow enemy, that was destroying us for centuries, and it seemed that the achievement of the Independence of Ukraine would be the point of no return, when at last there would be the supremacy of law, and not the barbarian power. Unfortunately, the northern neighbour does not follow any laws and regulations. He is guided only by the desire to possess and destroy. Therefore, we must fight and resist in order to finally win!

«Life goes on, and war is going on» – this is what the Ukrainian dissident, public and political figure, poet Anatolii Lupynis once wrote. So today, planning the day, we know that air alarms and missiles launches will completely cancel everything we wanted to do. But in the meantime, we continue to live, realizing how much was sacrificed for this and how much effort our defenders make every minute for it.

Happy Independence Day! Let’s work for the quicker victory! Let your every action, every step, every attempt and effort be aimed at overcoming the enemy and the development of our Ukraine!
