On February 27, 2020, the first meeting of the English-speaking club «Euro SPEAKing Club» took place at the Department of Foreign Trade and Customs, Lviv Polytechnic National University, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Activities «EU competitiveness boosting: circular economy» (CirclE)..
Students, postgraduate students and academic staff of Polytechnic discussed in English European issues, principles and values, and current issues of European integration of Ukraine, which is a good opportunity to improve their communication skills with the participation of native speakers (moderator was the US Peace Corps volunteer Glenn Anderson).
The participants discussed the basic principles of functioning of the European Union and stereotypes about different EU countries. They compared European and Ukrainian values, assessed our readiness, prospects and even the dangers of European integration.
All participants of Euro SPEAKing club shared their best experiences of visiting EU countries and expressed their views on the possibilities of spreading green initiatives in Ukraine. In particular, there was a discussion on the prospect of intensifying community action on waste sorting and recycling.
