Lviv Polytechnic continues to implement in practice the educational and cultural mission of a modern university, proclaimed in the program «Educating Aristocrats of the Spirit».
On September 7, a meeting was held to discuss issues of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Lviv Polytechnic National University and the Velyki Mosty Territorial Community in Lviv Region.
― The first planned joint activities will be excursions. First, we will meet the guests at Lviv Polytechnic, and later there will be an outdoor demonstration of scientific experiments «Where does energy come from» in the central square of Velyki Mosty. We also intend to organize evenings of intellectual family leisure, – says Oleksandr Zakhariash, head of the Center for Creative Industries, Associate Professor at the Department of General Physics.
During the summer, Oleksandr Zakhariash attended a number of meetings at the invitation of the heads of territorial communities of Ivano-Frankivsk and Volyn regions.
– Within the framework of this project, I also visited the Dolyna district, the town of Vyhoda, which is known for its unique engineering monument – a narrow gauge railway. At the meeting, we discussed the possibility of developing tourism in cooperation with the Museum of Science and Innovation, Lviv Polytechnic. The participants of the event were especially interested in the thematic meetings with the participation of adults and parents on the topic «Intellect is a commodity on the labour market», explains Oleksandr Zakhariash. ― Information about the resumption of children’s technical creativity circles in Drohobych region was also received with great enthusiasm. One of them is already working at full capacity – the electrification of bicycles, motorcycles, and automotive equipment. Vasyl Letnianchyn, an IT specialist and a graduate of Lviv Polytechnic, helps develop it. He found sponsors who give parts from disassembled cars, children clean them, parents who know how to do welding work help as well. We intend to introduce such circles in Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn and Rivne regions.
The world’s largest professional organization of financial specialists – the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, which unites Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, Great Britain), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA, USA), got interested in programs for the organization of educational work with adults, and expressed its readiness to implement the program «Educating Aristocrats of the Spirit».
