On October 23, 2023, a public lecture on "The New European Bauhaus - Energy Efficient Aesthetics to Achieve the Goals of the European Green Deal" was held online for Lviv Polytechnic students by Svitlana Romanko, founder and director of Razom We Stand, a well-known Ukrainian campaigner and climate activist, Candidate of Science in Environmental Law, doctoral student in Climate Law and Climate Policy, and expert on the EU Green Deal in Eastern Europe.

In the first part of her speech, the speaker focused on the content of the New European Bauhaus, its importance for the life of modern cities, and the implementation of such ideas for Ukrainian cities, including Lviv. Svitlana Romanko paid special attention to the green post-war reconstruction of Ukrainian cities destroyed by the Russian aggressor.

During the second part, the speaker focused on the topic "Green Jobs and Unlocking Investment Potential for Renewable Energy Development in Ukraine". Previously, the Razom We Stand organization (Svitlana Romanko) and the Resource and Analysis Center "Society and Environment" (Nataliya Andrusevych) presented this study in Kyiv on October 17, 2023, which aroused great interest in Ukrainian society. The conclusion of the presented study was the following statement: "If Ukraine's post-war reconstruction is green, it could create more than 4.2 million additional jobs in five key sectors: transportation, energy, healthcare, education, and water supply. In fact, a green post-war recovery can fully compensate for the 4.8 million jobs we lost during the war".

At the end of the event, the participants discussed the role of universities in the process of green transformation/green transition, as well as the feasibility of discussions on green post-war reconstruction of Ukraine in the active phase of the war.

The announced lecture aroused considerable interest. More than 240 participants registered for the event, and more than 100 people attended, including students of Lviv Polytechnic National University, lecturers, and members of the EUSTS project team.

The event was held within the framework of the European Studies for Students of Technical Specialties of Lviv Polytechnic National University (EUSTS) project, which is implemented with the support of the EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Program (activity - a series of public lectures). The project team sincerely thanks all the participants of the event and continues to work on preparing other equally interesting events on topical issues of Ukraine's European integration and cooperation with the European Union.
