The Diplomat’s Club, created by the Project Department of the Students and PhD Students Union in cooperation with the Students Union of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, has been operating in Lviv Polytechnic for the second semester. Students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the IHSS, are involved in its organization.

During the last month, three meetings were held: with young and promising activists Sviatoslav Yurash and Andrii Panasiuk and experienced diplomat Serhii Korsunskyi.

In particular, Sviatoslav Yurash, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, spoke in detail about the work within the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation. He emphasized the promising areas of Ukraine’s cooperation with other countries, and also identified the main challenges. In addition, students learned more about the activities of the Verkhovna Rada and people’s deputies

Andrii Panasiuk, adviser to the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration on Youth Policy, shared his experience in creating and participating in the Youth Council of Lviv Oblast. Students received useful advice on how to make the activities of the Council effective and how to involve as many young people as possible.

The meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan, Serhii Korsunskyi, caused a real sensation. 80 participants joined the event, including students not only of Lviv Polytechnic, but also of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the Vienna University of Economics. Those present received an incredible charge of knowledge, as Mr. Ambassador answered all questions, explained international processes with their causes and consequences, as well as told about Japan’s incredible support for Ukraine. In addition, the participants heard strong arguments why the Eastern region should be strategic for Ukraine in the development of interstate cooperation.

In general, all those present at the meetings were satisfied, as the topics of the discussions were interesting and relevant, and the speakers were happy to answer all the students’ questions. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, which helped the speakers and attendees to benefit and enjoy the meetings.

The Diplomat’s Club does not stop, but continues its activities and prepares new events. All relevant information can be found in the club’s Telegram channel and Instagram page, so you can be the first to learn about events.
