From March 28, 2022, the Department of Ukrainian Language, Lviv Polytechnic National University, continues the spring school «Online course on the Ukrainian language «Ukrainian Unites».

«This course was designed as a tool for teaching the Ukrainian language to Russian-speaking people who were prompted by the terrible events of the war to move to Lviv region. However, not only Lviv IDPs responded to our announcement, but also those who want to improve their knowledge of the Ukrainian language from all over Ukraine and from far and near abroad. In total, 1,067 people apply for the online school during the first day of registration. With limited resources, we were forced to temporarily suspend enrollment», said Zoriana Kunch, head of the Department of Ukrainian Language.

At the Department of Ukrainian Language, all forces were mobilized to ensure this important project in the current conditions. It was important to design the course program, select learning materials, divide students by knowledge levels, and address a number of other important organizational issues.

Zoriana Kunch notes: «We addressed our colleagues who worked at our Department at different times, to the teachers of Lviv Polytechnic Colleges and other colleagues with a request for help. In the end, we have gathered a large group of like-minded people. 45 study groups of 20–25 people were created. The training will take place during a month».

During this training course, research and teaching staff offer students educational and cognitive materials for practical mastering of program material on the Ukrainian language. These classes contribute to the development of oral and written communication skills in the Ukrainian language of persons who have not used the state language in everyday life or have used it to a limited extent.
