Registration for participation in the All-Ukrainian open architecture competition for the project proposal of a public space with a monument to Yevhen Konovalets in Lviv is open.
The purpose of the competition is to find the best project proposal for a comprehensive solution of public space with a monument to Yevhen Konovalets on the territory bounded by Stepana Bandery and Karpinskoho Streets in Lviv (on the territory of Lviv Polytechnic National University).
Interdisciplinary creative teams are invited to participate in the competition. Taking into account the theme of this competition, the participants need to make teams, which include professional artists, sculptors, specialists in fine and decorative arts, and representatives of other related creative professions, as well as architects and urban planners with experience in designing public spaces.
Participants need to develop a comprehensive concept of public space and an artistic solution for a sculpture that will serve as a monument to Yevhen Konovalets. The concept of the designed space should provide:
- a complex design solution for the organization of the designed space, including contextual, landscape and artistic solutions;
- the use of modern approaches and practices in the development of a project proposal with the aim of creating a meaningful space;
- creating a harmonious combination of natural, architectural and sculptural elements to emphasize the importance of public space and Yevhen Konovalets as its symbol.
The sculpture is expected to provide a relevant modern interpretation and understanding of Yevhen Konovalets legacy through its artistic solution and design.
The designed space will be used both for daily recreation of citizens and students, and for events commemorating the figure of Yevhen Konovalets. An important aspect of this competition is the development of a mock-up of the designed space with a detailed image of the sculpture, which will make it possible to visually demonstrate the design and artistic solutions of the creative teams.
The deadline for registration to participate in the competition is January 21, 2024.
