This year, the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers on Construction and Civil Engineering changed its venue as it was organized by the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.
However, this did not prevent Maksym Kushynov, a second-year master’s student from the Department of Building Constructions and Bridges, the Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Systems, Lviv Polytechnic, to win a competition in the specialization «Industrial and Civil Construction» and receive a first-degree diploma. His supervisor was Zinovii Blikharskyi, DScTech., Professor, Director of the Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Systems.
The student’s work «Computer simulation of nonlinear operation of a reinforced concrete beam of rectangular cross section with damage using the ANSYS software package» was noted by all members of the jury as extremely relevant and practical.
It is also worth mentioning that this is the second time Maksym Kushynov participated in the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers, last time he took third place. Having conducted research in the Research Laboratory of Prestressed Reinforced Concrete Structures (RL-23), the student has improved the results.
