The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposes to introduce stricter quarantine measures from January 8 to 24, 2021

At an extraordinary meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a draft resolution «On the establishment of quarantine measures in order to prevent the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 in Ukraine».

It envisages that stricter quarantine measures will be introduced in Ukraine from January 8 to 24, 2021 inclusive.

After the official promulgation of the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Lviv Polytechnic will issue a corresponding order to extend the quarantine measures. Until then, according to Rector’s Order No. 594–1-10 from 12.11.2020, the quarantine measures at the University are valid until December 31, 2020.

According to the approved document, from January 8 to 24, 2021, the work of cafes, restaurants, bars (except for delivery and takeaway orders), cinemas, fitness clubs, gyms, swimming pools, theaters, as well as shopping malls will be banned (apart from trade in food, medicines, veterinary drugs, personal hygiene products and household chemicals). During the period of intensified quarantine measures, it will be prohibited to go to educational institutions, to sell non-food products, as well as to hold any entertainment, sports or cultural events.

Public transport, grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, postal operators and hotels will continue to operate.
