From November 6 to 10, 2023, Oksana Serant, Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences, the Department of Higher Geodesy and Astronomy, the Institute of Geodesy, Lviv Polytechnic, gave lectures for students of the Kielce University of Technology in Poland as part of the Erasmus+ international mobility programme.

The representative of Lviv Polytechnic gave lectures on the main tasks of geodynamics, classification of methods of studying geodynamic processes, geodetic methods in the study of movements of the earth’s surface: geodetic research in the study of landslides, modern movements of the earth’s surface and the stress-deformation state of the earth’s crust. She presented students and faculty with the research of modern horizontal and vertical movements of the Earth’s surface based on the data of repeated long-term geodetic observations and observations of permanent GNSS stations. She also spoke about the geodetic research of the scientists from the Institute of Geodesy,. Lviv Polytechnic

The main result of the visit under the Erasmus+ programme is the transfer of knowledge in the field of GNSS technologies for various purposes for students and the exchange of experience in this field between the faculty of both universities. This improves and modernizes the conduct of theoretical and practical classes in the field of new technologies in both universities and the application of this knowledge in the research process. Meetings with employees and students of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Geomatics and Renewable Energy, the Kielce University of Technology, also make it possible to establish close relations in educational and scientific spheres.

During the visit, the possibilities of further cooperation were discussed. Oksana Serant also visited the educational laboratories of the university, and learned about the material and technical base of the institution. Such an internship contributes to the improvement of the quality of education, develops pedagogical skills and increases the opportunities for professional development.

The program featured various meetings and events. We express our gratitude to dr inż. Ihor Romanyshyn, the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Geomatics and Renewable Energy (Wydział Inżynierii Środowiska, Geodezji i Energetyki Odnawialnej), for a great contribution to the mobility program and the organization of meetings with students and employees of the Kielce University of Technology.
