At the invitation of the Rector of the University of Occupational Safety Management in Katowice, Poland, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure at Lviv Polytechnic Mykhailo Huzela participated in the Silesian Symposium of Criminalistics and Criminology from December 11 to 13, 2019.The event was organized by the Institute of Law and Security, the University of Occupational Safety Management.
Associate Professor Huzela got acquainted with the positive experience of Poland on the innovative development of Criminalistics on its territory, visited modern Silesian forensic laboratories in Katowice, learned about the possibilities of using a polygraph («lie detector») in the process of pre-trial investigation under the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Poland and visited modern laboratory for polygraph testing. Also, at the symposium a representative of Lviv Polytechnic gave a presentation on «Innovative Forensic Methods in Ukraine and the Problem of Using a Polygraph in Criminal Proceedings».
