Continuous development and improvement is the key to the fact that the Department of Chemical Technology of Oil and Gas Processing has been taking leading positions in the rankings for more than a year. The Head of the Department, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Mykhailo Bratychak, told us in more detail about the achievements of the Department. His story was supplemented by the Deputy Head of the Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleh Hrynyshyn.
– Your Department is called to be the best at the University, how did you manage to achieve such results?
– For the last 5 years we have been in the top five among the Departments of the University due to the professionalism of our faculty and hard work of students. We are highly appreciated not only at Polytechnic, but also in the world – in QS Word University Rankings by Subject 2021 we are in the group of 101–150 by subject. This is due to the fact that our researchers really work hard, and therefore we are known by various international companies and foreign scientists. For 15 years we have been publishing the English-language journal «Chemistry and Chemical Technology». It is published 4 times a year, and is now the only chemical journal in Ukraine, which is included into the international scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science. We launched an international scientific and practical conference «Advance in Petroleum and Gas Industry and Petrochemistry». Last year in May there was supposed to be the 10th anniversary conference, for which we had been preparing for a long time. We invited a large number of foreign guests, but due to the pandemic we had to hold it online. However, it made it possible to expand the conference and involve more scientists from different countries, who even today gladly remember this event.
