For several years in a row, an academic mobility programme not only for students, but also for academics who lecture and undergo internships in HEI abroad, has been operating in the University. In 2020, quarantine measures, namely the closure of borders, imposed certain restrictions on international academic cooperation related to mobility. However, 26 academics of Lviv Polytechnic still managed to use international grants and programs for short-term teaching (at least a week) in various foreign universities. 55 academics underwent offline training in HEIs abroad.

In general, Lviv Polytechnicians have increased their interest in foreign internships and upskilling training programs – trainings, seminars and webinars.

Also in 2020, international project activities became a priority for employees of different Departments and Institutes. During the distance work, Polytechnicians became more active in writing and submitting applications for participation in international educational scholarship programmes, grants and projects. More than 200 University employees won such competitions. The most important were the Erasmus+ projects. These are five Jean Monnet projects and six KA2 projects. The Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences and Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development each won two projects. It is important that for the first time Lviv Polytechnic IHSS coordinates a consortium of higher education institutions and organizations of the Erasmus + KA2 project within the Optima project.
