On March 8, the 2nd regional stage of the All-Ukrainian competition for the defense of research works of schoolchildren – members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine took place in the main building of Lviv Polytechnic. The competition was held at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
The solemn opening of the competition was in the room 204 in the main building of the Lviv Polytechnic on March 8. Afterwards the participants presented their projects related to engineering and materials science.
Schoolchildren who are studying in the groups of the Junior Academy of Sciences or are members of various scientific societies of the region presented 29 projects. Participants showed models of their devices and prepared posters providing general information about them and their research. Among the participants there were, in particular, those whose scientific work was supervised by the employees of Lviv Polytechnic and the Vocational College at the University.
– The mediator in the cooperation between our University and the Lviv Regional Junior Academy of Sciences is the Career Guidance Center. Seasonal career guidance schools and science clubs, the organization of which is supported by the Career Guidance Center and the Small Technical Academy of Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic National University, are the basis for students who are selected to write scientific research papers, said Vasyl Lozynskyi, Head of the Center.
At Lviv Polytechnic there were several sections of the large-scale competition, and a total of 267 projects were presented here.
– The engineers-inventors are our future. They will rebuild our Ukraine, and we have great hope for them, stressed Nataliia Znetyniak, Deputy Director of Lviv Regional Junior Academy of Sciences.
Among the jury there were many employees of Lviv Polytechnic: Vasyl Lozynskyi (Career Guidance Center, EIT Department), Ihor Lemishka (MSE Department), Pavlo Maistruk (RIME Department), Serhii Semeniuk (ITS Department), Oleksandr Kachur (TMEG Department), Mykhailo Medvetskyi (TK Department), Roman Kochan (SCS Department), Andrii Bondariev (TRERM Department) and Serhii Melnykov (ELE Department).
The 2nd regional stage of the competition lasted from March 8 to 10, 2024 at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Lviv Polytechnic National University and Lviv National Environmental University.
