On April 26, 2023, the 2nd session of the Educational Academy to discuss the implementation of the project «Moodle is pro100» started in Lviv.
MOODLE, a platform for distance learning, is used all over the world. In the Lviv region, it began to be used in 2021 due to the urgent need to organize a distance learning process in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, and later – during martial law.
In order to train teachers to use the platform, the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic National University, with the support of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, developed the project «MOODLE is pro100» in 2021.
«With the beginning of the quarantine, we were looking for a program or platform that would enable every educational institution, regardless of the circumstances, to switch to other forms of education (from face-to-face to remote and vice versa), without loss of quality and with the preservation of a safe environment. Today, we hope that we will be able to work out a joint plan taking into account the needs of both teachers and the Department of Education and Science in using the MOODLE platform in order to ensure maximum comfort in distance learning for both teachers and pupils», said Marharyta Noskova, director of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic.
As of today, 2,674 teachers from Lviv region have already completed advanced training on the organization of work on the MOODLE platform as part of the MOODLE is pro100 project. The platform itself is successfully used in 196 educational institutions of the Lviv region.
The second session of the Educational Academy will last two days – April 26 and 27. In total, representatives of 60 schools and lyceums of Lviv region, representatives of local self-government bodies, and educators are taking part in the event.
The program of the 2nd session of the Educational Academy includes discussion of building an educational environment as a joint responsibility of the territorial community, challenges and achievements of educational institutions in using the MOODLE platform, as well as participants’ work in teams.
