The 2022 admissions campaign is coming to its end: Lviv Polytechnic is the leader by the number of applications submitted by entrants

Despite the challenges caused by the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine, the 2022 admissions campaign is in its final stages. For the first time in the history of Ukraine, a national multi-subject test was organized in 58 cities of 32 countries for graduates who were forced to leave the country due to the war and wanted to enter Ukrainian educational institutions. This was announced by Serhii Shkarlet, the Minister of Education and Science, at the press briefing.

As a result, 214,388 entrants took part in the national multi-subject test, 23,038 of which passed the test abroad.

According to the Minister, currently 63,663 people are enrolled in the government-funded form of study and 77,791 people are enrolled in the contract from to obtain a bachelor’s degree on the basis of complete general secondary education. In 2021, 59,535 people were enrolled in the government-funded form of study, and 71,509 people – in the contract form.

«In general, during this year’s admissions campaign, which is still ongoing, we already have almost half a million entrants enrolled in professional pre-higher and higher education institutions to obtain professional junior bachelor’s, junior bachelor’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees», said Serhii Shkarlet.

According to the preliminary results of the admission campaign of 2022, the top 5 in the ranking of higher education institutions by the number of entrant’s submitted applications are:

  1. Lviv Polytechnic National University – 28,314;
  2. National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» – 27,635;
  3. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – 27,303;
  4. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – 26,797;
  5. National Aviation University – 18,184.

The top 5 in the rankings of higher education institutions based on the provided recommendations for the government-funded form of study include:

  1. National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» – 3,932;
  2. Lviv Polytechnic National University – 2,960;
  3. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – 2,890;
  4. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – 2,331;
  5. National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» – 1,497.
