International School of Ukrainian Studies «Step to Ukraine» by the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations has come to its end. On July 28, 2023, there was a solemn ceremony to award certificates on the successful completion of the School. Teachers and students from eleven countries of the world (Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Germany, Poland, Slovenia and Thailand) took part in the event. The invited guests – Nataliya Chukhray, Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations of Lviv Polytechnic, and Roman Danylyshyn, Director of the Ukrainian School at the Prosvita Association in Argentina, also joined the event which was moderated by Andrii Yatsiv, Deputy Director of the Institute. Virtual congratulations were given to the participants by Yevgeniya Petrova, Acting Head of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations (WFUWO) and Iryna Kliuchkovska, Director of IECDR and founder of the School.
The Solemn Closing began with the opening speech of Andrii Yatsiv, who congratulated the students on a successful «step» in studying and discovering Ukraine.
In her welcome speech Nataliya Chukhray, Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations of Lviv Polytechnic, highlighted the 13-year fruitful activity of the School and addressed the students: «Thank you to everyone who plunged into the exciting whirlwind of learning, immersed yourself in the Ukrainian-speaking environment during conversation practices and discussion clubs, and made friends with new people – in this way you also became a part of the large community of Lviv Polytechnic, one of the leading universities of Ukraine and Europe.»
