The purpose is to equip students with systematic knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of proper distribution practices by studying European approaches to pharmaceutical distribution from economic, legal, and professional perspectives. Additionally, it aims to develop the ability to conduct comparative analyses of the state of pharmaceutical distribution in Ukraine and EU countries. Applying the acquired knowledge will enhance European integration in the pharmaceutical field, improve professional skills to ensure the population's access to medicines and medical devices of European standards, and cultivate the ability to communicate professionally with people with special needs.
This course identifies the main challenges of the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market on the path to European integration, considering the influence of external crisis factors; key points of the EU strategy and the EU's priorities for the coming years are introduced; set of good pharmaceutical practices as a foundation for ensuring quality at all stages of medicines circulation, including aspects of distribution, geopolitical, sociocultural, and economic factors that affect the distribution of medicines and medical devices are analyzed; comparative analysis of regulations in the EU and Ukraine was held; practical experiences of leading Ukrainian companies in implementing European good pharmaceutical practices presented; innovative pharmacy service methods such as remote drug delivery, digitalization, the use of robotics, and ICT technologies in service delivery is considered; methodology and practices of EU countries in working with customers (consumers) with special needs, including outpatient care, pharmaceutical assistance, and applying European expertise in emergency situations is displayed.

The ability to solve complex tasks in the pharmaceutical field in professional practice, education, and science, considering economic conditions, human values, and individual, societal, and industrial interests.

GC3. The ability to be critical and self-critical to understand factors that positively or negatively impact communication, and the ability to identify and consider these factors in specific communication situations; the skill to work independently and in a team, and to communicate with colleagues on scientific achievements both at a general and specialist level;
GC6. The ability to search for and analyze information from various sources; the ability to conduct research at an appropriate level, with research skills reflected in the ability to present new products (through presentations or reports) in the chosen field, selecting appropriate directions and methods for their implementation, taking into account available resources.
Professional Competencies:
PC5. The ability to apply international, European, and Ukrainian standards and regulatory frameworks in the pharmaceutical industry in professional practice; to establish and register chemical-pharmaceutical enterprises; to implement regulatory measures regarding licensing, inspection, registration, certification, validation, and pharmacovigilance; to develop business plans and conduct market research; to organize the work of pharmaceutical enterprises in the creation, research, registration, and industrial production of medicinal products; and to carry out export-import operations.
The application of the acquired knowledge will provide an opportunity to improve European integration in the field of pharmacy, to obtain professional skills to provide the population with medicines and medical devices of the European level, and to acquire skills in professional communication with people with special needs.
