List of Performed Works

List of performed works:

  1. Development of the hierarchical system of adaptive optimal control of melting modes and fast-acting coordinate control of the electric mode of arc steel-smelting furnaces. The system ensures high level of electric efficiency and electromagnetic compatibility with electric supply. Compared to legacy arc power controllers, on arc furnaces with capacity 0.5-3 t, developed system ensures: reduction of arc currents dispersion by a factor of 20-50; reduction of unit cost of electricity by 4-6%; reduction of active power by 4,5-7%; reduction of reactive power consumption by 17-24%; increasing of mean power factor on melting period from 0.79 to 0.85; reduction of metal loses due to evaporation by 4.5-5.5%; increasing of furnace productivity by 6-7%.
  2. Development of Program technical complex (PTC) for diagnosis and adjustment of excitation systems of power station generators. In order to perform it, the excitation system is connected to the computer model, which simulates the power part of the generator. It enables to test the excitation systems and adjust them before being put into operation and also during the planned prophylactic breaks. PTC contains an industrial computer with ADC and DAC cards and amplifiers which provide on the output the required levels of signals peculiar to the real ones at an electric power station. PTC is equipped with a convenient graphic user interface which enables to realize the necessary testing modes.
  3. Development of autonomous systems of low power (0.5-10 kW) for generating electricity from renewable courses of wind and solar. The systems are focused on the use of individual consumers in their places of residence, because they are designed for the winds with low average speed. For these conditions, wind turbines with a vertical axis of rotation (VAWT) are better suited, which do not require guidance on wind direction and effective work on turbulent winds.
  4. Development of a number of new methods of optimal control of wind turbines with and without a wind speed sensor.
  5. Manufacturing and implementation of multipolar synchronous generators with permanent magnets for wind turbines in different countries (Russia, South Korea). Development of a few electronic systems for optimum load control of these generators.
