The National Research Council of Spain has published the next international Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics) for January 2022.
In total, more than 31 thousand universities around the world, including 313 higher education institutions from Ukraine were estimated.
The following indicators were taken into account when compiling the ranking:
- Impact – a combination of the number of external hyperlinks to the university domain and the number of domains from which these links come;
- Openness – the number of files available on the university website in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint formats, indexed by the academic search engine Google Scholar;
- Excellence – the number of scientific articles published by university authors in journals indexed by the Scopus scientometric database, and which are among the 10% of articles most cited in their scientific fields, according to the Scimago Group.
The three leaders among Ukrainian universities have not changed: Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» and Sumy State University.
Lviv Polytechnic National University ranks ninth in the ranking, and according to Excellence, our university is second in Ukraine.
