From September 29 to October 1, 2021, the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies hosted the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Modern Problems of Inorganic Substances Technology and Resource Conservation», dedicated to the 150th anniversary of chemical technology education and science at Lviv Polytechnic. It was organized by the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Inorganic Substances.

The conference was opened by Ivan Demydov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research. The event covered a wide range of issues: theoretical foundations of inorganic substances technology, technologies of basic inorganic synthesis, mineral fertilizers, salts and alkalis, catalysts and sorbents, fine inorganic synthesis and problems of modern plasma chemistry, environmental aspects and resource-saving technologies of inorganic substances, water chemistry and technology, integration of inorganic technology research into European Union priorities, as well as education and science during pandemic.

The conference was held both offline and online. Representatives of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology, the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute», Kharkiv College of Textile and Design and Lviv Polytechnic National University took part in the conference. Scientists from the Belarusian State Technological University, Cherkasy State Technological University, Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, PrJSC «Severodonetsk Azot Association» and others took part online.
