Mykola Logoida, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Development, Lviv Polytechnic, took part in the ceremonial openings of the 2025–2026 academic year at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Silesian University of Technology, which are long-standing partners and friends of our university.

On 1 October, the Vice-Rector took part in the ceremonial inauguration on the occasion of the beginning of the academic year at Wroclaw Polytechnic. Lviv Polytechnic became the only Ukrainian university among those invited to this ceremony.

― The celebration took place not only at the university level, but also in the city of Wroclaw. As part of the celebrations, a meeting was held with the city mayor, who welcomed educators, rectors and heads of higher education institutions. This provided an opportunity for direct communication and discussion of cooperation prospects, noted Mykola Logoida.

On 2 October, the Vice-Rector visited the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, where the 81st inauguration of the new academic year took place. The ceremony was attended by the university management and invited guests, including Professor Marek Gzik, State Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; Monika Sikora, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foundations and Regional Policy; Voivode of the Silesian Voivodeship, city presidents, ambassadors, senators, representatives of enterprises, local governments, churches, educational and cultural institutions, as well as rectors of partner universities.

Vice-Rector Mykola Logoida was the only invited guest to deliver a welcome speech. In his speech, he recalled the shared history of Lviv Polytechnic and the Silesian University of Technology. The rector of the latter, in his address, also emphasized the universities’ rich common past, mentioning Lviv professors and the historical ties between the institutions.

The visit of Mykola Logoida to Poland is only part of the planned events aimed at fostering cooperation between Lviv Polytechnic and Polish universities. At the same time, other vice-rectors are also on business trips to strengthen international collaboration in various areas, including research and academic mobility.

― After the official ceremonies, in an informal setting, I had the opportunity to discuss with the rectors of both universities the prospects for closer cooperation and the restoration of ties between our institutions. This trip was therefore an important step in strengthening Lviv Polytechnic’s international academic connections and reviving the historical partnerships with leading technical universities in Poland.
