On May 15, 2024, the Student Olympiad in Computer Graphics was held at the Department of Technical Mechanics and Engineering Graphics (TMEG), the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport, Lviv Polytechnic. The participants performed the tasks in the official licensed version of the AutoCAD software product of the Autodesk company, whose authorized representative is Serhii Komarov, Associate Professor at the TMEG Department.
More than 40 students from seven Institutes took part in the competition:
- Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport;
- Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies;
- Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Systems;
- Institute of Computer Technologies, Automation and Metrology;
- Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development;
- Institute of Applied Mathematics and Fundamental Sciences;
- Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems.
All participants received incentive gifts from Vitalii Korendii, head of the Department of Technical Mechanics and Engineering Graphics, and the 12 best students were awarded diplomas and certificates.
According to the results of the competition, the jury members – Associate Professors Serhii Komarov, Orysia Strohan and Vladyslav Topchii – chose six winners:
- 1st place: Marko Cherevychnyk (group TT-13, specialty Transport Technologies);
- 2nd place: Vasyl Kozub (group AT-12, specialty Automotive transport) and Dmytro Dynko (group TT-12, specialty Transport technologies);
- 3rd place: Dariia Synyshyna (group BT-11, specialty Biotechnologies and Bioengineering), Vadym Hladii (group TT-13, specialty Transport Technologies), and Yurii Trybukh (group TT-12, specialty Transport Technologies).
The diplomas for the originality of the solution, the speed of solving tasks, special perseverance and diligence, were awarded to the following students:
- Denys Todosiichuk (group BT-11, specialty Biotechnologies and bioengineering);
- Oleksandr Skibitskyi (group TT-12, specialty Transport Technologies);
- Artem Hudyma (group AT-13, specialty Automotive transport);
- Nazar Koza (group AT-12, specialty Automotive transport);
- Andrii Horopakha (group AT-11, specialty Automotive transport);
- Bohdan Fedenkiv (group AT-11, specialty Automotive transport).
The team of the Department of Technical Mechanics and Engineering Graphics congratulates the winners and wishes all the participants of the Olympiad inspiration and success in their studies, as well as an unquenchable desire to master modern technologies, in particular in the fields of computer graphics and automated design!
By the way, all students of Lviv Polytechnic who study the disciplines Computer graphics and Engineering graphics at the TMEG Department have the opportunity to get a free student license for the Autodesk AutoCAD software product.
