The University held the International Conference «Cultural Heritage: Innovative Approaches and Sustainable Development»

On September 9–10, Lviv Polytechnic University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Cultural Heritage: Innovative Approaches and Sustainable Development". It was organized by the faculty of the Department of History, Museum Studies and Cultural Heritage, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The conference was held as part of the European Heritage Days in Lviv. Thanks to the mixed format, 45 participants took part in the event, 9 of them from abroad.

Vilnius University, with which the HUEC department has been cooperating for many years, had the largest number of its representatives among the international colleagues. Salvijus Kulevičius, Associate Professor, Vilnius University, personally arrived at Lviv Polytechnic to take part in the scientific meeting offline. Linda Norris, a specialist in museum affairs from the USA, known all over the world, also delivered her speech at the conference. In addition, colleagues from the University of Rzeszów, Poland, and the University of Macerata, Italy, shared their own experiences.

Participants from Ukraine represented a number of educational, scientific and museum institutions of our country, namely:

  • Museum of Book and Printing of Ukraine (Kyiv);
  • Pedagogical Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv);
  • Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (Ivano-Frankivsk);
  • Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (Kyiv);
  • Ivan Bobersky Lviv State University of Physical Culture (Lviv);
  • Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (Ternopil);
  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Kyiv);
  • Ostrohradskyi Poltava Academy of Continuing Education (Poltava);
  • Vinnytsia Institute of Trade and Economics of State University of Trade and Economics (Vinnytsia);

and, of course, Lviv Polytechnic National University.

On September 10, Andrii Pavlyshyn, a senior lecturer at the Department of History, Museum Studies and Cultural Heritage, gave a tour of the main building of Lviv Polytechnic for the conference participants.

The conference contributed to the establishment of business relations between specialists in the field of history and museology, as well as to the exchange of modern scientific and applied information.
