Lviv Polytechnic National University has begun implementing a conceptual project «Socially Responsible Institution Lviv Polytechnic National University: REIN-TECH – a reintegration ecosystem and a barrier-free social elevator for students with special educational needs».
The goal of the project is to establish a sustainable and innovative reintegration ecosystem (REIN-TECH) at Lviv Polytechnic National University – a barrier-free social elevator designed to ensure full and inclusive access to higher education for students with special educational needs (SEN) and veterans.
The project serves as a key instrument for implementing the strategic priority of building a socially responsible institution, as outlined in the Strategic Development Plan of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The project encompasses the implementation of infrastructure, technical, educational and reintegration objectives, as well as systemic and scalable ones.
Lviv Polytechnic has initiated the first stage, focusing on infrastructure and technical improvements to ensure barrier-free access for students with disabilities to the educational environment. This includes the installation of ramps and elevators, the modernization of sanitary facilities (toilets and washrooms), and the adaptation of dormitory spaces to meet accessibility standards.
The second and third stages of the project will include:
- commissioning a dormitory on the University Campus for students with disabilities, fully equipped in accordance with accessibility requirements and featuring infrastructure for rehabilitation and medical care;
- constructing a specialized educational building within the University’s academic area;
- developing a sports and rehabilitation zone on the Campus, comprising facilities for physical recovery and wellness activities.
The ultimate goal of the project is the transformation of Lviv Polytechnic National University into a socially responsible institution that ensures equal opportunities and inclusive conditions for education for all categories of students.
